DALTON UTILITIES RECEIVES NATIONAL COMMENDATION FOR ELECTRIC RESTORATION EFFORTS IN THE CITY OF FORT MEADE

 

Dalton, GA – January 3, 2025—Dalton Utilities has received a national commendation from the American Public Power Association for its support of electric power restoration efforts in the City of Fort Meade, Florida.

 

On October 9, 2024, Dalton Utilities sent eight (8) team members from the electric department to assist the Fort Meade community, which suffered widespread outages due to Hurricane Milton. The crew was in Florida for seven (7) days and helped restore power to two electrical circuits, changing out 14 poles and replacing numerous transformers.

 

Dalton Utilities is a participant in the American Public Power Association’s Mutual Aid Network, which coordinates with utilities and authorities during widespread power outages. “Dalton Utilities is pleased to support our neighbors through mutual aid programs,” said Will McDaniel, Chief Energy Services Officer of Dalton Utilities. “We all benefit by banding together in the aftermath of hazardous weather events.  Our electric crews are committed to providing excellent customer service both at home and elsewhere.”
